Will McIntosh
William specialises in cross-border mergers and acquisitions and venture capital. His practice areas include joint ventures, private equity and commercialisation of technology.
He was awarded “Corporate Lawyer of the Year” at the 2009/10 Law Awards of Scotland, recognition of his focus on deal-making and contribution to the technology sector. Having worked a number of years in Paris for a leading corporate finance practice, he has a particular specialism in transactions with French companies and investors. He also continues to represent international companies and investors in deals covering a variety of jurisdictions, including the US. He is involved in a range of Franco-British initiatives and is the Vice-President of the Franco-Scottish Business Club.
William has been passionate about promoting Scotland’s technology sector and formulating best-practice, with involvement in publicly-funded think-tanks (aimed at increasing the country’s global competitiveness) and advising universities on the commercialisation of the research base. He has been active in a number of landmark projects, creating world-leading research clusters and consortia, including in biomedical research. He also advises numerous technology companies and spin-outs on their commercial strategy and fund-raising.
